Shop and drop service for the vulnerable and elderly extended

Slough Borough Council will be extending its emergency shop and drop service to vulnerable and elderly residents in the borough until Friday, 15 January.

Due to the bad weather and icy conditions, the council is aware there may be elderly and disabled residents who have not been able to leave their home for basic food provisions and as a result have found themselves without essential food items.

The service is being done in partnership with Age Concern Slough and Berkshire East.

The council is also calling on all Slough residents to help their vulnerable or elderly neighbours with shopping and to check they are keeping warm.

The council’s drop and shop service will be coordinated via Age Concern who will contact the council’s community wardens who will collect and deliver the shopping.

Elderly residents wishing to use the service can call 01753 822 890 between 9am and 2pm. The council will endeavour to deliver the shopping on the same day, if ordered by 2pm.
